A new PC mod for Bethesda’s RPG hit Fallout 4 allows you to play as characters from Konami’s Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to play the famous Metal Gear surprise tone whenever you get a sneak kill from behind (via GameSpot).
Nexus Mods User Akiba91 has worked diligently to bring Venom Snake, Skullface, and Quiet to the Commonwealth for all Sole Survivors to enjoy. The mod, entitled “Metal Gear Solid – ALL IN ONE STANDALONE,” not only lets you play as these three characters, but also comes with some customization options, like different eye patches, arms, and horns.
The mod is a bit tricky to get working. You can start it up either using console commands, or by installing an additional mod called “Armorsmith Extended,” which will give you the ability to to create these Metal Gear items a workbench. Either way, the mod seems like a great chance to combine the characters and worlds of two of last year’s great RPGs.
If you’re just beginning to experiment with Fallout 4 mods, make sure to check out the top ten other mods currently on offer, which include small changes like expanding the supplies available to build settlements or optimizing textures, to big modifications like full dialogue interface redesigns and craftable ammo. The official mod creation kit should be released sometime this year, which will mean even more quality mods to enhance your time in the wasteland.
We also recently learned that Metal Gear Solid 5 shipped over six million units last year.
