Move over Professor Layton, there's a new detective in Nintendo Town. The Pikachu detective game is real, and it's coming out next week in Japan. Previously announced on the Japanese TV show The Professionals three years ago, this new title will star a "smug, talking, loveable, detective Pikachu", who players will play assistant to as he solves crimes. The puzzle adventure game will also feature a very rare blue Pikachu, as yet to be seen.
Officially titled Detective Pikachu ~ Birth of a New Duo~, the game will cost 1,500 yen and debut on Japan's 3DS eShop on February 3rd, 2016. So far there's no word about Western release. Still, you can enjoy the trailer, and Pikachu's oddly manly voice, above.
Seriously though. Who can we get to voice Pikachu for the Western version. Patrick Stewart? Patrick Warburton? James Earl Jones?
