It has been revealed that the newly announced Street Fighter VI will feature cross play support. This was revealed through Twitter from maximilian_, who has been getting hands-on with the upcoming fighter.
Street Fighter VI was announced back in February of this year, but players were recently shown a brand new gameplay trailer at Sony’s latest State of Play.
According to one of maximilian_’s recent tweets, the news that the game will be cross play has come directly from the developers.
Maximilian_ has also been answering many fans burning questions about Street Fighter VI also, as well as sharing some information and even video footage of the game in action.
One Twitter user asked the question ”In your opinion, does the combat system feel better than in SFV?” with the reply being ”Game naturally feels like it wants focus on the offensive/defensive balance of the Drive Gague instead of longer combos. The most fun I had has getting devs who knew how to use it, and finding solutions. Lots of decision making going on.”
The devs also said player expression and player to player personality is key for SF6. The drive gauge and mechanics were designed in such a way where they want a lot of individual freedom. It very much felt like it.
Maximilian_ has also put out a 24-minute long video showcasing a whole bunch of gameplay as well as first impressions in 4K 60FPS, which you can check out below.
We are super excited to see more about the upcoming Street Fighter VI before the titles release in 2023.
