Like most rogue-lites, Curse of the Dead Gods allows you to unlock certain advantages with each run that will give you a better chance of succeeding as you go. Spread out into three categories, one for each of the main god’s temples, the blessings in the game can be used to give you a unique edge in how you approach each run. Below are some of the best and most effective blessings in Curse of the Dead Gods.
Best Red Blessings
Unquenchable Thirst
Unquenchable Thirst provides an extra point of stamina for each Greed Kill. Greed Kills are activated for each kill the player makes without taking damage while the counter is active. With this blessing activated, you can become a killing machine who never runs out of stamina to attack or dodge.
Indomitable
If those bosses are giving you a hard time in Curse of the Dead Gods (and they will), Indomitable can help provide you with a considerable edge. Indomitable will give you 50% of your total health back after a boss fight, meaning if you narrowly survived, you won’t get killed shortly thereafter, and if you did well, you could even come out with close to full health.
T’amok’s Protection
This one is great for beginners. Curse of the Dead Gods features a light and dark mechanic, and T’amok’s Protection puts it firmly on your side. Your torch will light 20% further with this blessing active, and damage will be reduced in any lighted area.
Best Blue Blessings
Grace of the Tempest
This one is beneficial when doing the longer runs, particularly against late-game bosses. With your enemy experience and equipment familiarity, the extra Dexterity you get for each room you make it through with no damage will quickly stack up, allowing you to save your precious gold for other purchases.
Clever Kills
Another great one for early players in Curse of the Dead Gods, Clever Kills doubles the damage enemies take from any trap. This can be insanely useful once you understand how most of the traps work, as you can just kite or guide enemies right into them and let the traps do the work for you.
Storm’s Focus
If you’re the kind of player who has good timing for parries, this one can help you out a lot. Like Unquenchable Thirst, when appropriately used, Storm’s Focus will make it so that you never run out of stamina as each parry will refill it for you. Parry your way to victory with Storm’s Focus!
Best Green Blessings
Reptilian Hunger
Pay attention because this is arguably the best blessing in the game. Reptilian Hunger has the double effect of making it so that your Greed Kill counter never runs out, and for each kill you get, a percentage point of damage is added to your attacks. This effect stacks to a staggering 50%, giving it a ton of potential for as long as you can go without taking a hit.
Serpent’s Bounty
Another incredible blessing, Reptilian Hunger, makes it so that each boss you kill will drop five pieces of equipment instead of two. This gives you way more variety for weapon pick-ups throughout your run and gives you a massive edge with each boss fight you complete in Curse of the Dead Gods.
Will of Sich’al
Honestly, the green blessings are some of the best in the game, and this one is no exception. Will of Sich’al gives you 20 more points on your curse threshold, meaning not only do you get fewer curses, but you can also even game the system around when you’ll be cursed and when you can remove curses.
