Things look to be especially busy at Insomniac Games right now. It seems that the studio is currently on the hunt for some additional talent to join them on their as-yet-unannounced new multiplayer project. That’s according to a tweet shared by Insomniac’s Head of Technology Shaun McCabe, who took to Twitter to share a job listing for a Senior Gameplay Manager. He also elaborated that the role would involve helping to put together a “world-class engineering team” for the studio’s new multiplayer project.
While the appearance of another job advertisement related to the mysterious new project doesn’t really provide a huge amount of insight, it’s clear that the wheels are definitely still in motion on the new game. The project was first rumoured back in September last year when, as reported in Playstation Lifestyle, it was also rumoured that the title is going to be a multiplayer Marvel project. It is also expected to be a PlayStation 5 exclusive.
Since then, there’s not been too much more information on the new title, but with the studio actively recruiting for new talent, it seems that they’re fully focused on the development of both this new, secret game as well as their current ongoing projects of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine.
With Insomniac already covering two of Marvel’s most iconic heroes, it’d make sense for them to further explore the vast universe of heroic content available to them through their connection to Marvel in a new title. Unsurprisingly, there’s been plenty of speculation on social media as to the theme of the new game, with many suggesting that it may not be a Marvel project at all, rather a remake of Insomniac’s PS3 hit Resistance: Fall Of Man. Whether or not this turns out to be the case, we’ll just have to wait and see.
