A lot of folks were ecstatic when Luigi's Mansion 2 was announced at E3. Not only did it mean a sequel to one of the GameCube's best launch titles, it also meant another opportunity to stick up for the most neglected sibling in gaming history. Let's face it: Luigi is taller, skinnier and more athletically inclined, but he still winds up stuck in Mario's shadow. It's an injustice, I tell you.
If you share my peculiar sympathies, this newly released direct feed footage of the game should brighten your day a little bit. (Well, as much as a haunted can brighten anyone's day.) You'll get to see Luigi encounter traps, secret passages, and of course, ghosts. None of it's shockingly new, but I suspect wrangling ghosts with the accelerometer controls will be great fun. And hey, more face time for Luigi is always a good thing in my book.
Nintendo plans to release Luigi's Mansion 2, a 3DS exclusive, sometime in 2012.
