Microsoft has announced that Xbox Music is to be renamed Groove, while Xbox Video will henceforth be known as Movies & TV.
Announcing the name changes on the Windows website, Microsoft said the aim was to allow users to access music "quickly, efficiently, and on their favorite devices."
The service is said to have "new features we think you’re going to love. Groove describes what people feel and do with music, and is more intuitive for our Windows 10 customers on what they’ll find with the app."
As for the more generic Movies & TV label, Microsoft commented, "you’ll also find Xbox Video has also been renamed to Movies & TV, making the content in the app more identifiable for our broad customer base."
These changes appear to have been made as Microsoft gears up for the release of Windows 10 later this month.
The Xbox One is set to go through a significant overhaul this autumn, including a revamped UI.
