We doubt fans are going to get over Fallout 4 anytime soon. Bethesda’s giving us shiny guns, bigger beasts, and an immortal dog who can assist you with some tasks. Oh, and a fancy new world to play around in!
Okay, maybe not that fancy. While game director Todd Howard emphasizes that “[t]he graphics matter, they do matter in suspending your disbelief,” that’s not all Fallout 4 is about. Sure, it looks a lot better than Fallout 3, but the team still had to dial back on the really fancy stuff.
“Everything we do is a balance,” Hines said, as reported by GameSpot. Fallout games aren’t known for their graphics prowess, and this latest entry will be no different. What Fallout 4 has to offer though, is a world that allows for more interaction with the environment and more player freedom than any other RPG.
You can build your base using reclaimed resources grow your settlement in real time. There’s an extensive crafting system in place that boasts 50 base weapons and 700 modifications, letting you customize as much as you want. Protect your settlement by setting up turrets or traps, or you could go in for the kill with some melee finishers. Fallout 4 is bringing in so many new things, as well as some old ones, that will make for a more enjoyable game experience than just having fancy graphics. We think Bethesda’s on the right track, going for both style and substance with this project.
Fallout 4 will be out for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on November 10, 2015.
