A few iconic games emerged into the marketplace thanks to the Nintendo 64. One of the go-to multiplayer games that became a huge hit was 007 GoldenEye. The development team over at Rare delivered a video game adaptation for the latest 007 movie, which starred a brand new actor portraying James Bond, Pierce Brosnan. It was such a massive hit that players enjoyed the local multiplayer FPS experience. But, unfortunately, it’s a game that is not accessible on the latest platforms today.
The video game has been dealing with some licensing issues. There was an attempt to bring out a remastered edition for the game. Unfortunately, the game never officially came out due to the issues mentioned. Instead, it happened to leak out online for some players to get their hands on. While it was a game that we didn’t think would ever come to fruition again, that might have changed. Another discovery online has some players thinking that perhaps a remastered edition release is coming.
For the scrapped remastered edition, a new achievement list has appeared for 007 GoldenEye. In fact, it looks like a couple of individuals who work at Rare have already claimed achievements for the game. There’s nothing officially announced at the moment, but this could mean that a remastered edition is actually coming out into the digital marketplace. Still, there is the licensing issues that would need to be resolved.
It could be a remastered edition that removes some of the likenesses of certain actors from the game. Again, there’s no official announcement that a remastered edition will officially come out for 007 GoldenEye. We’ll just have to keep an eye out for an official announcement regarding the game to see if developers have given the green light to deliver this classic FPS experience.
