There are a ton of great JRPGs out there, both classic and modern. Among the slew of popular franchises out, there is Persona. This series has been around for years now, and while the various installments are popular, its latest mainline release blew up immensely. Persona 5 was such a big hit that it’s not only one of the greatest installments for the franchise in general but also considered one of the best JRPGs ever.
As you can imagine, this installment has a strong following, and since its release, fans have been waiting on Atlus to bring out ports. Unfortunately, the game is limited to the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. That’s a small audience compared to what Atlus could be getting if the game was more widely available. Now a new leak might have come out by Atlus themselves. Recently, Atlus listed Persona 5 across multiple platforms.
Recently the company announced a costume contest where winners with the best costumes will win various prizes. However, a copy of Persona 5 Royal edition for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, or PC platforms was among the list of prizes. Of course, Atlus claims it’s a typo, and the game was corrected to be Persona 5 Strikers. That game is available on all the platforms mentioned but acts as a spin-off sequel to the events of Persona 5.
Unfortunately, there are still no official confirmation ports are coming out. It’s a shame since this game was so beloved that fans would like to get into this title but still are forced into using a PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4. At the very least, fans who might want to get into this game for the narrative alone will find that there is an anime adaption.
