Europa Universalis 4 is expanding today with the arrival of the El Dorado pack for $14.99 on PC, Mac, and Linux.
The expansion is focused on Central and South America, and adds three major new religions for the Aztec, Maya, and Inca civilizations. Players will also be able to send fleets of specific missions, dispatch pirate fleets to stop them, and task conquistadors with discovering the lost Seven Cities of Gold.
While Europa Universalis is usually steeped in history, developers Paradox are giving players the opportunity to shake things up with a new Nation Designer feature. You'll be able to select starting provinces, national ideas, and your starting ruler among other options. Players will also be able to randomise the map, and have France being in Manchuria, for instance.
If you choose a European nation you'll also need to maintain good relations with the Pope if you want to grab a slice of the New World Treaty of Tordesillas.
