Dying Light is one of the first zombie-slashing games of this generation. It's also one of the best games in this genre that we've seen in recent years, which puts it among the pantheon of 2015's Game of the Year contenders already. Later this month, The Order: 1886 will be making its way to store shelves, which should find a place in the same company, if the hype train has any validity. Past these releases, there will be a massive host of amazing games throughout the year.
Dying Light seems to have struck at the perfect time. In just 24 hours, the game accrued over 1.2 million unique players. This means that over one million different people all bought the game and signed in during the first 24 hours of the game's availability. Here's a tweet from the official Dying Light account:
News Flash: From the moment Dying Light got released right-up until yesterday we had over 1,200,000 unique players. pic.twitter.com/BUwucxKDRP

There's no telling what the latest numbers are, but they're likely much higher than the figure of 1.2 million. We're happy to see Techland, who develops Dying Light, build upon their recent successes.
