Destiny is, if nothing else, a massive game. The Bungie Studios developed game was a massive undertaking, and there were bound to be some items that never made it into the game's playable confines. Destiny Database have taken the time to delve into Destiny's code, taking out anything that might appear to resemble an item of some sort.
Who knows, maybe some of these items will be available at some point? For now, don't expect any of these to be showing up. Many of them would have been extremely cool additions to the game, but they aren't going to fix Destiny's biggest hole – it's weak story.
Check out these lost, little oddities in a list compiled by Reddit user SmurfyX:
The first section describes a number of 'Ghost Shells,' which were used to change both the look and function of your allied Ghost. My guess is that the huge amount of different tasks that these Shells were going to provide made their production too large an undertaking.
Consensus Shell – http://www.destinydb.com/items/1040215534-consensus-shell " Ghosts who give testimony before the City's great Consensus often remake their shells in this traditional form."
The Foundry Shell – http://www.destinydb.com/items/1040215535-foundry-shell " City's artisans welcome the deep memories and painstaking finesse of the Ghosts."
Intrusion Shell – http://www.destinydb.com/items/1040215533-intrusion-shell "Rigged for eavesdropping, surveillance, and intrusion into unfriendly networks. Ghosts can self-modify at will."
Shipwright Shell – http://www.destinydb.com/items/1040215529-shipwright-shell " Sometimes the best way to troubleshoot a faulty NLS drive is to dive in and get your shell dirty."
Vanguard Shell – http://www.destinydb.com/items/1040215528-vanguard-shell " This shell marks the Ghost as a trusted instrument of the Guardian Vanguard."
Special Delivery – http://www.destinydb.com/items/3311034942-special-delivery " Guardian, This Ghost shell is an unusual sort, and so was the Exo who left it. I believe she meant it for you. -Tess Everis"
Special Delivery 2 – http://www.destinydb.com/items/295124230-special-delivery "Guardian, This shell was left for your Ghost, with instructions to deliver it upon his return. Welcome to the Tower. -Tess Everis"
These 'Ship Items' allude to a more diverse travel system. Your space crafts currently only allow you to warp from one planet to the next in Destiny, but these upgrades imply that there was once a more complex ship-building system, as well. Once again, Bungie wasn't able to follow through, probably due to constraints on their development schedule.
C-Drive Array Order – http://www.destinydb.com/items/368451173-c-drive-array-order " A work order for installation and calibration of a cascade driver array."
Hangar Assignment – http://www.destinydb.com/items/3105162850-hangar-assignment " A hangar assignment from the Tower Shipwright. No ship lands without one."

Navcore Order – http://www.destinydb.com/items/2452507807-navcore-order " A work order for initialization and updating of a synchronized navcore system."

Type II Powerplant – http://www.destinydb.com/items/3014527285-type-ii-powerplant " A spaceflight-rated powerplant requisitioned from a City shipyard."
This section describes a number of different upgrades to your weapons. Given the already copious amount of changes you can make to your in-game weapons, we're not surprised these got cut.
Epoch Splinter – http://www.destinydb.com/items/1968488792-epoch-splinter " Slivers of glass used by the Vex. Isotopic dating suggests their age ranges across billions of years – past and future."

HALLOWEEN SPARROWS
These special edition Sparrows were apparently going to be available as a part of Halloween last year. However, they never came to fruition.

This next section describes a number of bounties that never came to be. When I was still playing Destiny, I barely had time to get the bounties they were offering me done, so this is another non-surprise.
A Challenged Claim http://www.destinydb.com/items/3874590012-a-challenged-claim#1.czPKwVc8 "Disable 3 Salvage Probes while competing in the Iron Banner tournament."
Salvaged Hope – http://www.destinydb.com/items/2728647387-salvaged-hope#1.cok4yJ " Participate in the capture of 15 Salvage zones while competing in the Iron Banner tournament."

This section describes a number of experience boosts that were going to be made available to players. However, I think we can all agree that nobody needed any experience boosting to get to level 20 in Destiny.
Bone Trinkets – http://www.destinydb.com/items/1053112404-bone-trinkets " No question what these were carved from. Only who. An inspiration to defeat the Fallen. Increases XP gain from Fallen for 10 minutes."

Spent Displacer – http://www.destinydb.com/items/199830403-spent-displacer " Were the Vex sent here because you are a threat in their future? An inspiration to defeat the Vex. Increases XP gain from Vex for 10 minutes."
Void Shackles – http://www.destinydb.com/items/3348846756-void-shackles " Barbed shackles of a material that is painful to the touch. An inspiration to defeat the Hive. Increases XP gain from Hive for 10 minutes."
Finally, a miscellanious section.
