Gamers who were fortunate enough to own a Playstation 3 last generation will likely tell you that Journey was one of their top experiences. ThatGameCompany, who developed the title, crafted something completely out of the ordinary, and it paid off in huge numbers. Independent development never looked as good as it did with Journey.
However, Journey was a 2012 release. While games are debatably an art form, we sometimes forget even the most prized of gems. ThatGameCompany announced in August of last year that both Journey and The Unfinished Swan would be coming to the Playstation 4. This was met with thunderous approval.
Recently, ThatGameCompany published a tweet that addressed one fan's question of, "Do you have any news to share on Journey PS4?"
Here's what the studio had to say:
@NaughtyGods Tricky Pixels is still working on the port, and it won't be announced until it's been completed, but it's not too far off.
It looks like ThatGameCompany wants to make sure gamers don't have to wait a long time after a release date announcement. If you ask me, that's pretty considerate of them.
Look forward to both Journey and The Unfinished Swan on Playstation 4 later this year.
