Kotick Talks About Modern Warfare 3 Interest

As is the case with yearly-released Call of Duty games, the interest is unprecedented, with recent games in the franchise exceeding revenue of $1 billion. Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has spoken about the interest in the next title in the series, Modern Warfare 3.

Kotick told Reuters:

It's sort of surprising because you always go into the launch of a new Call of Duty game with an expectation that … it's a hard number to beat, but if you look at the player enthusiasm for Modern Warfare 3, I don't know if we've really seen anything like it in our 21-year history.

Modern Warfare 3 is due for a worldwide release on November 8th, 2011.
