The Order: 1886 will come out in February for Sony's Playstation, exclusively. It's launch has been tabbed as one of 2015's biggest gaming dates, and we're going to be all over the title just as soon as possible. The Order is set in an alternate-history London, where humanity is threatened by a huge number of devious creatures. It's up to players to survive and help humanity survive in a world where we aren't top of the food chain.
One thing has been missing from this console generation: grand marketing schemes. While the big three (Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft) have almost certainly spent millions advertising their respective consoles, nothing has really hit home. Does anyone remember Kevin Butler, who basically got fired by the Playstation Move? Not even Mr. Butler could turn that gadget around.
At any rate, Sony is looking to change gears leading up to The Order's release. They've released a faux news broadcast that looks eerily similar to the BBC's format. In this news cast, the reporter details a huge skeleton that has been dug up. They interview a doctor, who says that the skeleton is over 2 meters tall and is unlike anything seen on planet Earth yet.
It'd be really cool if Sony did this in multiple iterations leading up to The Order's release. They could reveal different enemy types this way, or offer some more nods to the game's plot., which is still shrouded in a great deal of mystery.
