Telltale Games have proven themselves to be one of the most important developers in the video games industry over these past few years. They've worked on The Walking Dead game series and have most recently published the first in their episodic Game of Thrones series. As the studio's namesake implies, they are very adept at telling stories and drawing players in. Interesting characters service as the lynchpin of Telltale's games, as they connect gamers to their titles in a way that is unprecedented thus far in gaming history. This might be due to the fact that Telltale places such an emphasis on their decision-based system. Gamers must make extremely difficulty moral decisions regarding the characters in their games, which leads to a greater feeling of connectedness between player and story.
Telltale's director of public relations, Job J. Stauffer, has taken to Twitter recently and is teasing a a "super secret" announcement, which should arrive before week's end.
Super secret surprise announcements before the holiday break? Maaaaaybe. …hashtag #subtle!
Even more interesting is the fact that this won't be related to any projects announced thus far in 2014.
I'll also clarify – it's not directly related to anything else we've made in 2014.
Apparently, whatever they're planning on announcing is a collaboration between themselves and another developer. This could mean some pretty amazing things for gaming.
"Well, kids… You see… When two game developers love each other VERY much… and they get together…"
