Destiny’s latest patch is bringing some major changes to exotics, as well as some smaller changes to vendors and activities.
The idea behind exotics is they are supposed to feel like they are overpowered, but they will not actually break the game. These changes come closer to making them more fun and approachable to use.
Exotic Armor and weapons won’t need ascendant materials to upgrade anymore. Subsequently, you will need an exotic shard for the final upgrade. To obtain an exotic shard, you can either buy one from Xur with 7 strange coins, or obtain one by dismantling unwanted exotics. There are also exotic specific changes you can read about here.
Raids received fixes, where a Templar can be thrown off their platform, and a bug where Atheon did not send three players through the time gates.
Daily Heroics and Daily Patrol Bounties now drop Destination Materials. The Relic Hunter Bounty, in turn, has been removed.
Reputation reward packages now have a higher chance of legendary Engrams. Cryptarch reputation gain from Engrams have been reduced.
Players can buy Spinmetal, Relic Iron, Spirit Bloom, and Helium Filaments using Vanguard Marks and Crucible Marks.
Faction class items are now replaced with Faction Emblems.
