Telltale Games, developers behind the original Walking Dead series of video games, are at it again. After winning the Game of the Year award for their efforts last year, Telltale will be looking to opt in to the veritable contest once again with Tales of the Borderlands. This new Borderlands experience will be unlike every other game you've probably played based in the same universe. It will very much be a Walking Dead-style game with lore and such taken from the Borderlands realm. In many ways, this seems like an even better fit than The Walking Dead's world. I don't see the outlets for as many meaningful choices, but there's a way bigger universe and a lot more content to digest.
Telltale games, who is also working on a Game of Thrones title, released this launch trailer to accompany the game's release today. The early reviews are in, and rate the series' first episode – "Zer0 Sum" – very well. For anyone who wondered whether or not story and plot were the most important parts of game development, this might clear things up for you. Fans seem to have flocked to Telltale's style of game development, and we can't say we blame them.
Here's to hoping Tales from the Borderlands continues to be received well. Check out the launch trailer below, which features Rhys and Fiona; these are the game's two main characters. We're sure there will be more to come, but this seems like a pretty good starting point.
