Bladestorm: Nightmare will be making its way to the Playstation 4, Playstation 3 and Xbox One early next year. The game is actually split into two halves, the first consisting of The Hundred Years' War. This first half should follow the histories of England and France, which are the countries it's based on.
The second half, after which the game is named, will have an entirely different feel. Players will be able to utilize spells and magic to defeat their opponents. While it's not yet clear whether Nightmare will follow a certain historical plot, it will certainly be offering some skills and abilities that are simply not real.
In a new announcement trailer posted to Koei's Facebook page, a lot of the new gameplay is shown off. The series formula doesn't change much at all, it appears, but new graphical capabilities have been installed. For those who aren't familiar with Bladestorm as a franchise, you're typically put in charge of one batallation of troops. The caveat here is that you're still one person inside the brigade, so you still have to worry about yourself and must work from the ranks to win your battles.
If owning physical copies isn't really your cup of tea, it also appears that the game will be available for download through the Playstation Network. Given that the title is being published on both the Playstation 4 and Playstation 3 physically, it'll probably see digital release on both consoles, as well.
