Up until now, I've said that Dragon Age: Inquisition couldn't possibly compare to The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. The title that Bethesda Softworks created for us is just too much of a powerhouse to be dealt with. My bias comes from a particularly terrible experience with the first game in the Dragon Age series, Origins. I just didn't feel that the game was authentic and I couldn't bear to fight through to the game's finish. It was for this reason I skipped Dragon Age 2. With Dragon Age: Inquisition now on our veritable doorstep, I can't help but notice just how far the series appears to have come. This game is looking beautiful in all the right ways, and the relentless outpouring of gameplay videos have me pretty excited. Maybe now that Bioware is focused less on their popular Mass Effect series, an extra layer of quality will be laid over Dragon Age.
While I am certainly guilty of ignoring Dragon Age, nobody can turn away from these screenshots. Hot off the presses, these gorgeous sneak peeks of the November 17 release are stunning. Lighting, character models and draw distances are all detailed in a crisp new wave of next generation technology. While these shots were likely taken from the PC version of the game, we're still looking forward to seeing what is capable on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One, as this will likely be one of the first games to truly test the new consoles.
