Just a few minutes ago, we reported that the 'dedicated' servers for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare promised to us by Sledgehammer Games' are not really accomplishing the task of being dedicated. Lots of players are experiencing some really awful response time from the game, and while some of this lag probably comes from the user end, it's hard to believe that these problems would be so consistent with dedicated servers backing the game.
Regardless of whether or not these servers are dedicated, Sledgehammer Games' Michael Condrey recently announced a number of improvements that will be coming to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Though the server issues are reason to be wary, we can still get excited for this list of changes soon coming to the title:
- MP chat icon size and placement
- Kill confirmed score limit
- Camo challenge tuning
- Prestige emblem reset
- Speed reload timing
- 2XP messaging
- Score mismatch when player leaves public lobby (Doesn’t affect Combat Record)
- COD Vision team color improvements
Condrey was also quick to note that this list is not made with any sort of priority to what is listed first or last. Everything is of equal value to their development team and will be addressed as such.
I have to wonder if this preparation for improvements to the game somehow coincides with the dedicated server issues. While the answer is likely no, it will be really interesting to see how the game performs after these changes are applied to Advanced Warfare. Maybe Sledgehammer Games' will go the route of Blizzard and World of Warcraft, making a couple of changes in secret through this upcoming patch.
