Dead Space is a massively popular video game title. Fans have been pleading for a new installment, but the franchise had been dormant for years. After three mainline installments along with some spin-offs, EA put the game franchise on ice. Fortunately, that’s no longer the case, as we recently got the unveiling of a Dead Space remake. This remake will tackle the first game installment, and fans can’t wait to see more. However, the teaser didn’t unveil when fans could potentially see this game released into the marketplace.
The teaser itself was incredibly short. There was just enough information there to alert fans that a remake is coming. Likewise, we know that EA Motive is the studio behind this game project. If you’re unfamiliar with the studio, these are the folks who brought out Star Wars Squadrons. Now that the studio is working on the Dead Space remake, we might know just when the game will actually be available. According to a report from VentureBeat, the video game development team is shooting for a Fall 2022 release.
That’s according to sources that are apparently familiar with the development progress. Of course, EA won’t comment on these reports or rumors. Instead, the latest we’ve heard from EA on Dead Space was from the actual CEO, Andrew Wilson. During an investor’s call, the CEO noted that Dead Space was actually one of the franchises fans requested the most. So now fans might be able to dive into this remake sooner than expected if the report proves to be accurate. Although that’s assuming that game development stays on track and doesn’t get hit with any delays.
Meanwhile, we might have a new showcase soon. The same report from VentureBeat claims that EA will be showcasing Dead Space once again before 2021 wraps. However, we don’t have any specifics as to when this game IP will show up within the year.
