If there is one series that has stood the test of time, it would look something like Final Fantasy. The franchise has pervaded nearly every console since its inception, and continually shows that there is no lack of content or lore to draw from. Developers Square Enix have built for themselves a sort of gaming empire with Final Fantasy, something most series are never able to achieve.
The next title in the series will be making its mark Nintendo's 3DS system with Final Fantasy Explorers. The game will require players to take control of a group of in game characters and travel the world, searching for crystals. These crystals are the apparent life and civlization of the in game modern world. One of the biggest sources of crystals in game is the island of Amostra, which is guarded by savage beasts. This island may be one of the main locations in game.
Nova Crystallis has posted some screenshots of the game. They have set it up to where we were not able to post any of them to our own website, but we managed to get our hands on one. For the rest, check Nova Crystallis out.
Explorers is not necessarily the most beautiful game, but we are sure Square Enix will be bringing the same quality as the other entries into the franchise to this game. Explorers releases on December 18 later this year in Japan, with worldwide release dates currently unknown.
