Today marks the release of the Master Quest Pack, the first major piece of paid DLC for Koei Tecmo's Hyrule Warriors. In addition to that, North America also gets a free update that adds the villains Cia, Volga, and Wizzro to the playable roster. All this new content should help extend the life of the game, at least until the next DLC release.
As we've learned before, the DLC adds the horse Epona as a new weapon for Link, and it gives several characters new color schemes so that they may more closely resemble other characters from the greater Zelda franchise. Furthermore, we're getting a new adventure mode map and a few new Legends mode scenarios. Finally, Lana and Cia both get some lovely new costumes that make them look positively radiant — Cia even bothers to remove that ridiculous mask of hers!
Hyrule Warriors is currently available for Wii U. The Master Quest Pack costs $7.99, with new packs arriving in December, February, and March. You can pre-order all of them as a discounted bundle for $19.99.
