The developers behind Planetary Annihilation have a new strategy project on Kickstarter, that puts an amazing new spin on the genre.
In Human Resources, Lovecraftian god-monsters squabble with robotic overlords for the fate of Earth. Humans aren’t just caught in the middle of this battle, however. They are the resources the Ancient Ones and the Machines use against each other.
This incredible scenario will play out in a game that uses the Planetary Annihilation engine. However, it will have a look all its own, reminiscent of the Ligne Claire art style as exemplified by Herge and Geoff Darrow. Clear silhouettes and basic colors make these battles easy to comprehend, and make the game prettier than your average strategy game.
This project is no joke, however, as dev Uber Entertainment needs $ 1,400,000 to make it come to life. However, given the developer’s prior success with Planetary Annihilation, and the backing of developers who worked on stellar strategy games such as Total Annihilation, Command and Conquer Generals, and Supreme Commander, chances are very good Uber can deliver on their promise, assuming they get this fully funded.
Human Resources is planned for PC, and is estimated to come February 2016. You can check out the Kickstarter pitch below and help fund the game here.
