Dark Souls 2 has given gamers entrance into an extremely unique and entertaining world. While some would argue that it's the weakest of the series' three entries, it no less is an example of quality game development. However, From Software may have made a mistake in crafting the latest patch for the Xbox 360 version of the title. Yesterday, it was revealed that there is a game breaking bug plaguing the software of this particular version.
The post, written by reddit user illusorywall, dictates that:
"Immediately after the patch, a bunch of players on the Xbox360 have experienced a bug that undoes game progress. The character will load, have their items, etc, but bonfires become unlit, bosses respawn, etc.
This completely ruins some playthroughs, because you can't enter uncleared boss rooms from the reverse side. That means no warping or walking back to Majula, in many cases (hopefully pressing forward and warping back via primal bonfire will be an option for some?).
If this happened to you, please check out the linked topic above and contact Namco."
While glitches aren't necessarily a new or exciting thing when it comes to game patches, the devastating way in which this messes up players' games is. While you can contact Namco about the issue, we're not sure that much will be able to be done if your character gets stuck in this situation. Your best bet is to stay away from using characters that you have worked really hard on until this problem gets sorted out. From Software is a strong developer with a penchant for pleasing fans, so it shouldn't be long before this is addressed.
