Persona 4 Arena Ultimax – wow, that's a mouthful – came out just yesterday. While many of the game's fans have probably already picked their copy up, this is not stopping Atlus Games from making one last marketing push. A new trailer has been concocted to coincide with Ultimax's release.
The trailer, only about a minute long and features a ton of over the top anime action. Atlus X, who develops the game, interlaced a few clips from the anime series to make things a bit more organic. The trailer creates a feeling that the game will take on a more happy go lucky feel. This doesn't strike us as a bad thing, because so many fighters nowadays try to take themselves so seriously… Soul Calibur, we're looking at you. Frankly, Ultimax looks like a lot of fun.
Considering the lack of fighting games recently, there isn't really a better time for this title to hit center stage. Some of you who aren't as familiar with the series will be saddened to hear that Ultimax will only be releasing on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. This is also a positive nuance of the game, though, as it keeps the last generation alive that much longer. We're not saying that we think the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 are going anywhere soon, but we'd like to see them hang around for years to come.
Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think about this iteration into the Persona franchise.
