The remake of Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers is coming out next month. Dubbed the 20th Anniversary Edition, the game is a remake of Jane Jensen’s classic adventure game for the PC and Mac.
Originally published by Sierra, Gabriel Knight went on to spawn two sequels, one of which was a live-action game with real actors.
GK2 aside, Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers puts players in the role of the eponymous character who undertakes a case to solve voodoo-related murders from his bookshop in New Orleans. He’s not a cop, either, but a Schattenjaeger—one of a long line of monster hunters.
A remake for the PC and Mac, Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers 20th Anniversary Edition is available for pre-order on GOG and Steam ahead of its newly announced October 15 release. There’s a 15% discount off the $20 price for anyone who orders it before it comes out, as well as a pre-order bonus soundtrack.
In addition to a high definition visual makeover, the game features new puzzles and scenes, a remastered soundtrack, and behind-the-scenes material including audio interviews with Jensen and her former colleagues at Sierra.
