Rockstar Games has shared new job openings at their San Diego office, leading to speculation that they are now working on Red Dead Redemption 2.
The source also speculates the game is coming only for PlayStation 4, but it would not be unreasonable to say the game could also be planned for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Windows, and maybe even Linux via SteamOS.
Rockstar San Diego need various programmers, artists, systems administrators, animators, engineers, technical designers, producers, and others. The scale and variety of the listings indicate a large project is being planned. All in all 37 listings have been put up, presumably as part of the studio’s planned expansion.
Rockstar San Diego, originally known as Angel Studios, is not only famous for Red Dead Redemption, but also games like Smuggler’s Run, Midtown Madness, Midnight Club, LA Noire, Max Payne 3, and Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis.
Parent company Rockstar Games made prior statements that leaned heavily on a Red Dead Redemption sequel. This has led many to speculate that they are starting work on said sequel. However, this is all only speculation for now, as there is nothing stopping the studio from pursuing several projects at the same time, or, for that matter, working on a new IP.
