We have some new details on Halo 5, particularly in regards to the multiplayer beta.
The Halo 5 beta multiplayer will be primarily four on four matches. So, fans will get an early taste of competitive Halo 5 gameplay.
There will also be seven playable maps, and they may have already revealed one for fans: Midship, which dates to as far back as Halo 2. This is the third incarnation of the venerable map, and our source says 343 Industries has done a good job as it captures the map’s essence, but at the same time it has never looked better. They also revealed an entirely new map with little details to come with it. It does appear to be a human colony.
There will be three available modes, although these have not been confirmed. Our source believes they will be Capture The Flag, Oddball, and Slayer. Each player will get the same loadouts, although this may itself be mode specific.
Regarding the new weapons, 343 gave fans an early look at the Assault Rifle, BR, DMR, Rocket Launcher, and Sniper Rifle, are all cocked, locked, and ready to beta, straight out ofHalo 4. Also coming back, after being last usable in Halo 3: ODST, is the SMG.
The beta will be in 60 FPS, and of course, there will be dedicated servers. If you do get in the beta, you can earn items that you can carry over in the full release.
The Halo 5 Beta releases December 29 on Xbox One and will go for three weeks.
