Space Pioneer, an earlier Kickstarter about space exploration that didn’t secure funding, has reappeared, reworked as a new game, dubbed Project Tool.
As you may remember, the pitch for the game then was that they had actual astronauts in the team, not just consultants, to help make their space sim. Today they have revealed their retooled pitch, and introduced a new crowdfund attempt, this time on their own.
Project Tool will be a deep 3rd person sci-f RPG, with the story revolving around a secret agent Jake Travis, trying to uncover a conspiracy between the government, aliens, and the source of life on Earth.
Travis has limited teleportation abilities , which allows him to move instantly across short distances, and also enter another person’s consciousness.
Tool Games also promises that Project Tool will have deep customization options, dynamic level design, and a huge emphasis on story.
This time around, Tool Games is targeting $ 500,000, and have successfully raised $ 6,635 of that amount so far. We know there’s interest in this game, but now that the constraints of Kickstarter are no longer an issue, Tool Games is hopeful that they will secure full funding in time.
