From Software’s Atsuo Yoshimura has revealed new details for the upcoming trilogy of DLC episodes for Dark Souls 2. Along with it, however, is the revelation that there is no chance for the game to come to either Playstation 4 or Xbox One.
There will be new pieces of everything, from weapons, rings, armor, and whatever equipment and clothing you use. Ofcourse, given the new and varied locations, each episode will feature a new batch of enemies as well.
There will be rewards for completing all three episodes, but be forewarned; overall, the DLC is harder than the main game. There will also be more challenging routes for each episode that players can take aside from the mains routes, and you can use summons to tackle each route, just like in an MMO dungeon.
It may strike you as odd that PS4 and Xbox One is out of the question for Dark Souls 2, but I think there is an upside to this news. We already know From made PS4 exclusive Bloodborne for that console from the ground up. It’s likely that the next installment of the Demon’s Souls / Dark Souls franchise will then be exclusively on PS4 and Xbox One. If anything, From’s resistance to cross generation ports is a good sign, since it means their attention won’t be divided regardless of the platform they choose.
