We have information on some new pre-order DLC for Assassin’s Creed Unity. Perhaps accidentally leaked by a Gamestop store, the game has a mission called Chemical Revolution.

And yes, this is actually a thing; AKA, a historically significant event. The actual Chemical Revolution was a sea change in the study of chemistry, precipitated by the work of Antoine Lavoisier, with contributions from Henry Cavendish and Joseph Priestley. For his contributions to the field, Lavoisier was dubbed the father of modern chemistry.
You’re wondering at this point what this has to do with Unity, and this leads to some necessary spoilers. See, Lavoisier was himself a nobleman, executed in the French Revolution.
In fact, he had quite a position of power, as a member of the Ferme générale (a taxation bureau in pre-Revolution France) and a member of several aristocratic councils. The Revolution destroyed his life, forcing a shutdown of the Ferme générale, making him resign several posts, and forcing him to give up his scientific pursuits. Eventually, he was framed and executed during the Reign of Terror, as instigated by Robespierre.
So now, imagine all this going on as the setup to an Assassin’s Creed Unity side mission. This isn’t even the main game, just a side mission put up as DLC. The preview pic implies you will be interacting with Lavoisier directly, although whether he is an ally or enemy we don’t know for sure yet. When you think about it, though, this is indicative of some really exciting stuff waiting for us in Assassin’s Creed Unity, and I can’t wait to get official details. Assassin's Creed 5 Unity is coming Q4 for Windows, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
