So, do you know all the Final Smashes of all the characters in Super Smash Bros for 3DS and Wii U thus far? Let’s run down what we know.
Armored Samus’ Final Smash is the same as in Brawl, the Zero Laser. She charges her arm cannon and fires a large beam of energy. This beam can go through parts of stages. This time, her armor won’t fall off after this Smash.
Kirby’s Final Smash is the Ultra Sword. This weapon originally appears in Return to Dreamland. As a Final Smash, the sword grows insanely large and glows as Kirby makes a series of strikes surrounding an enemy.
Pit’s Final Smash is the Three Sacred Treasures. Although we see Pit equipped with the Mirror Shield, Wings of Pegasus, and the Arrow of Light, it really is only the arrows that strike foes, in multiple directions Hawkeye-style. Some of those arrows fly up and go back down.
Rosalina’s Final Smash is the Power Star. She creates one gigantic Star, while smaller stars shoot out and strike enemy players. Unlike Pit’s Smash, positioning seems central to the efficacy of Rosalina’s Smash.
Wii Fit Trainer’s Final Smash is simply called Wii Fit. The trainer’s different poses emanate from her or him in different colors, striking enemy players. Yes, you can see a theme in these Smashes, and for this one, it seems best to place the Trainer at the far left or right, instead of in the center like Rosalina.
Little Mac’s Final Smash is Giga Mac, a bigger and stronger version of Little Mac. Giga was introduced in Punch-Out’s two player mode, where one player can turn into Giga after leveling up. This switches things up from an even fight to an uneven battle, and Giga promises to do the same in Smash. No word if he keeps his moveset in this form.
The Animal Crossing Villager’s Final Smash is Dream Home. Tom Nook arrives with his nephews, Tommy and Timmy, to build a house around an opponent, only for it to blow up.
Mega Man’s Final Smash doesn’t have a name, but as you may already know it shows the Blue Bomber with Volnutt, Mega Man X, MegaMan.EXE, and Star Force’s Mega Man for one epic multicolor team-up blast attack.
Now, for the most interesting part. We don’t know anything about the Final Smashes for the Pokemon Lucario, Charizard, or Greninja. Lucario definitely is not using his previous Final Smash, Aura Storm, and it looks like Charizard turns into Mega Evolution Charizard X first.
We have seen Lucario’s and Greninja’s Smashes, however. Astute viewers noticed that he has transformed into Mega Lucario as well, and seems to have powered up his fists with a glowing aura he can throw at opponents. Greninja’s Smash involves throwing an opponent up midair, striking them from all directions before coming in for one final strike. Looks cool, but neither of these are based on any of their moves from Pokemon X and Y.
What does it all mean? Apparently, these are not the same Pokemon you played in X and Y. Greninja is already showing a movelist filled with things he doesn’t do in his game of origin, and possibly, the other Pokemon will be the same.
Of course, we didn’t even cover everyone here. Who knows what Princess Peach or Fox McCloud’s Smashes will look like? We’ll be sure to share with your more Smash related news and info as we get them. Super Smash Bros will release for 3DS Summer of this year, and for Wii U this Winter holiday. In the meantime, you can check them out again in this video below.
