A new update for the Xbox 360 is available now which primarily impacts back end systems according to Xbox Live director of programming Larry 'Major Nelson' Hryb.
Hryb tweeted:
(1/2) An #Xbox360 update hits as early as tomorrow, mostly back end stuff

(2/2) Start an #XboxVideo rental on Xbox 360 & pick it up on another platform. That's one of the only new features.

With the Xbox One available since November, it's good to see that Microsoft is continuing to support the Xbox 360. In September, Xbox chief marketing and strategy officer Yusuf Mehdi commented:
"If you look at Xbox 360 that platform [has] lasted for seven to eight years and it's going to go for another three years. It's incredibly profitable now in the tail.
"We are going to continue to invest in Xbox 360 and the two devices can work in concert. So it isn't just like the day we ship Xbox One, Xbox 360 won't work, we will continue to support it. In fact, we are going to ship over 100 new games on Xbox 360, so you will still be able to play your games, just not on the same exact box."
The Wii U has also received a new update today.
