Today Behemoth has officially announced BattleBlock Theater for Steam. The side scrolling speedy puzzle dasher, released early in 2013, received its last digital content update on Xbox Live Arcade this past week, revealing the final new special prisoner. With that out of the way, Behemoth is now moving onto a new platform, bringing fresh features to the game with its PC debut.
On Steam, players will be able to wield two weapons and swap them while navigating the levels, and Story Mode will be intensified with the presence of Cat Guards. Steam Workshop will allow players to trade and sell collected items like yarn, gems, prisoners, and weapons, and also share user created custom levels.
In a two weeks Behemoth will be holding a Closed Beta for BattleBlock Theater's PC edition, which you can sign up for here. It will be held from March 24 to March 31, 2014. Oh and be sure to check out the announcement trailer above, because The Narrator is back and I love him and want to marry him.
(And while you're at it, take a gander at our two-part interview series with BattleVlock Theater level designer Aaron Jungjohann: Pt. 1, Pt. 2. We thoroughly enjoyed picking his brain for insight into the process behind what made BBT so fun!)
