The first image of Battlefield 4's new platoons has been revealed and posted on Reddit and can be seen above.
The platoons, which are coming to Battlelog "soon", are currently being tested by a small number of players in order for DICE and EA to test out their features before a wider launch.
A Battlelog producer, who goes under the title TheBikingViking, said the update includes a lot of background updates which will be tweaked in response to fan feedback.
"Trust me, there's a lot of work in building the underlying system. Now comes the really fun part in getting feedback from you guys on what kind of features you would like to see next."
In response to questions about the possibility of increasing the size of platoon limits and friend list size, he commented:
"Luckily, the Platoons member limit is 100% within our control, so we'll be sure to look into expanding it. There might be a reason why it's 100 to begin with. One thing is of course that we want to see what kind of issues leaders and founders run into when trying to administrate a Platoon of some 100 members, so we can make sure that the right tools are in place before we start expanding the limit."
Details of the new platoons are set to be revealed before long if you haven't been successful in applying for early access to the update.
