Nintendo has announced a new game called Steel Diver: Sub Wars. The title is downloadable (starting today) from the Nintendo eShop for the 3DS and is the first Nintendo title to adopt a free-to-play model.
In Steel Diver: Sub Wars, players take on the role of a submarine and do battle against other submarines. It plays very much like a first-person shooter and is described by Nintendo's Satoru Iwata as a "contemplative FPS."
The game is available for free with two playable submarines for players who want to try it out. If you buy the game, you get more subs—simple as that.
