This is a guide for the MK14 EBR in Call of Duty Ghosts.
The MK14 EBR has staggering damage as a marksman rifle. You can kill upclose with one headshot, or two shots otherwise. At the longest distances it will only go as far as three shots to kill, two with one headshot.
Expectedly, rate of fire is low at 480 rounds per minute, although this is not really a problem. In fact, moderate recoil necessitates the slow ROF to be effective, and the MK14 EBR is. Hipfire is poor, only a tad better than sniper rifles. You have 90 % mobility with the gun. Aim time is standard for its class at 300 milliseconds.
A note about close encounters; all things considered, you can still account for yourself well at close ranges. The key is to make sure you are squarely pointed at your target.
Magazine capacity is standard for the class at 18 rounds per magazine, 27 for extended magazines. Reload time of 2.97 seconds is average. Of course, you are incentivized to shoot sparingly and accurately.
The MK14 EBR is the most powerful weapon in its class. To make the most out of this, you need to improve accuracy, and this is what should determine your Perks and attachment. The integrated scope is the 1st necessity. Not only does it improve accuracy, it does not take an attachment slot and it lowers recoil. The muzzle break and armor piercing rounds are next in line.
For Perks, Focus is a necessity for all marksman rifles. Wiretap will make you efficient at picking off enemies using their communications system. Resistance Perks like TAC Resist also come recommended. Finally, rather than taking a handgun, you are better off picking up a close range gun from a fallen target.
