Microsoft just stepped up its game. The Xbox One maker has started a new promotion that offers players $100 when they “ditch” their PlayStation 3 for an Xbox One.
You don’t see this type of move too often in this industry, but the offer is valid at all brick and mortar Microsoft Stores in the US and Canada until the end of February. The PlayStation 3 unit must be fully functional and complete, so you won’t be able to hand over your bricked console and get a cool $100 bill.
“Visit your store, let us recycle your PS3, and get $100 of store credit towards the purchase of a new Xbox One," the e-mail reads.
Microsoft is currently behind in the hardware race, so it doesn’t hurt to make a bold move in order to get the edge. Sony has been calling Microsoft out since this new console war started, so it looks like the Xbox maker is finally firing back.
