Although snow regularly falls in many cities, Valve welcomes spring with the DOTA 2 New Bloom event. The New Bloom event brings new items, tweaks and new heroes to the DOTA 2 roster.
Like the Wraith Night event, New Bloom brings new items, couriers and collectibles to DOTA 2. Instead of collecting gems, players can stumble across Crimson Parcels that can contain small gifts or items perfect for defeating the Year Beast. The Year Best awakens each year to feed its uncontrollable hunger. Players can group together to take down the Year Beast for limited time items.
But the New Bloom update brings even more than just a few new shop items. Two new Heroes make their way into the DOTA 2 roster with the newest addition, Terrorblade. The demon marauder uses player reflections for his means of murder. Using illusions of himself or the enemies, Terrorblade can increase the body count and even swap health with any ally or enemy. While Terrorblade creates illusions, Phoenix uses fire to eliminate the enemy team. With fire area-of-effect abilities and a supernova bomb, Phoenix can aid allies or stun enemies.
The update also brings changes to existing Heroes to further balance the roster. Alchemist's Unstable Concoction won't deal as much damage where as other Heroes like Centaur Warrunner, saw their ability cooldowns reduced.
Valve continues to preview the DOTA 2 New Bloom update, but an official launch date remains unannounced.
