inFamous Second Son Gets New Info on Endings, Powers, and Choices

January 28, 2014 by Stephen Daly

There will only be two endings to Second Son but players will take different paths to get there.

Sony demonstrated inFamous: Second Son at the Taipai Game Show in Taiwan over the weekend and revealed new information on the game's endings, control scheme, powers, and player choices.

Media reports from those in attendance, as relayed by DualShockers, reveal that there are only two endings in the game – one bad and one good.

However, there's going to be a broad number of choices available and players will take significantly different paths to reach the game's conclusions. Different choices can also influence the difficulty of the game.

The game's producer, Nate Fox, has said that morality is at the heart of Second Son and that players will most likely have more fun being evil.

Players can use only one power at any given time and are not unlimited in use, nor do they recharge. While it's possible to swap powers you won't be able to so on the fly; instead, you'll need to find a suitable source for to draw energy for each power.

Smoke powers are more effective in melee while Neon powers work better at range. Gamers will need to find chimneys or smoking cars to fuel Smoke powers while they can recharge their Neon abilities from electrical sources.

During the demo shown to the press, another conduit appeared and used fire based attacks. He was also able to condense the air below him to form a rock to stand on. It's unclear what powers other conduits will have.

The impact of some buttons will change depending on what power is equipped while the DualShock 4's touchpad can be used to open doors or absorb elements from nearby sources.

inFamous: Second Son launches exclusively on PlayStation 4 on March 21st. Yesterday, Sony released a new trailer for the game showing Sucker Punch's tech in action in a rainy Seattle.
