From Software head developer Yui Tanimura has revealed that the company has yet to even think about the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. This comes as the answer as to how they would port upcoming game Dark Souls 2 to the two systems.
The reason for this is quite straightforward. From Software has resolved to deliver Dark Souls 2 as quickly to fans as possible, so they did all their optimizations on the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
Tanimura also expresses regrets regarding the PC port of the 1st Dark Souls. That port arrived 10 months after the console versions, and was still riddled with issues. Tanimura promises that the PC version of Dark Souls 2 will turn out much better. Considering that it is releasing alongside the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions this March 11, there’s no reason to believe that this will not be the case again.
For eager fans who can’t wait for a taste of Dark Souls 2, From and Namco Bandai have partnered with Future Press to release Dark Souls 2: Collector’s Edition Guide. This guide will be good for all platforms, and include a fully illustrated area guide with richly detailed maps, multiplayer guide with many technical details, an enemy analysis section that shares tactics and item drops, and an exhaustive guide for weapons, armor and magic. For those who may not remember, this guide comes with the special edition bundles also available for preorder earlier, so it’s good to know you have other ways of getting the guide.
This is a published 8.5” x 11” hardcover with a wonderfully detailed jacket. The book will retail for $ 35, but you can order it from Amazon now for only $ 25.11.
