This is a guide for the MR-28 in Call of Duty Ghosts.
The MR-28 has decent damage, although it doesn’t compare to other guns in its class. It can kill with two shots up close, only one headshot. That persists at medium range with three shots to kill, two with one headshot.
Rate of fire is at 600 rounds per minute, making it the top of its class in this regard. However, its poor hip firing means it is easily outclassed by most guns, save some sniper rifles.
Thanks to an integrated grip, the MR-28 has the best handling and fastest output in its class, with the mildest of recoil. To make the most out of this, you should use an integrated scope on it, although close range optics are an alternate option. More on this later.
Aim time is average at 300 milliseconds, as well as mobility. It has the best magazine capacity at 24 rounds, 36 rounds for extended magazines. This make the MR-28 perfect for suppressive fire. With 2.47 seconds reloads, it is the best all-around gun at handling.
While marksman rifles are expected to perform with accurate play at long distances, it can do well at medium range, thanks to fast ROF and high level handling. You can be more aggressive with it than the average sniper rifle.
When it comes to attachments, the MR-28 is already very good at what it does, so rather than enhance its strengths, you may have to compensate for other areas. Here, close range optics may be better than integrated scope, particularly because the former gives you the benefit of peripheral vision. You want close range optics for the smaller maps. Either way, you want extended magazines to keep bursts going longer, and enable aggressive play.
Focus is the default necessary Perk for any marksman rifle. Amplify is good for sniffing out enemies close by. You might want to invest in a handgun for real close up encounters, in which case, get Reflex so you can switch between them better.
