It’s pretty crazy to think that Japan still doesn’t have a PlayStation 4 as we enter this new year. The territory is Sony’s home, and we’ve seen plenty of PlayStation devices launch first in the Land of the Rising Sun in the past. Things have changed quite a bit in recent years, though, as it’s taken until the very end of December for the first next-generation PlayStation commercial to even appear on Japanese television.
The extra time to create a marketing campaign has paid off for Sony, as the console manufacturer has used the success it’s seen in other locations to launch this compilation advertisement (via IGN). The above video shows the best moments of the PS4’s massive launches in November, making the wait for the Japanese crowd even more difficult.
We know that the console has pushed more than 2 million units up to this point, and that number will only increase when the PS4 hits Japan Feb. 22.
