The episodic content for Halo 4 might not have been a rousing success, but that doesn’t mean that 343 Industries and Microsoft aren’t interested in giving it another shot on the Xbox One. Halo 5, which is slated for release in 2014, might be the perfect time to include a more enjoyable series of downloadable episodes for players to enjoy. A new job opening on the Microsoft website details exactly what the team is looking for in possible applicants.
“Halo 4 is our biggest Halo game to date, bringing with it innovative episodic narrative-driven gameplay via Spartan Ops and episodic live-action storytelling via the web series Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn,” it reads.
“343 is exploring future episodic storytelling endeavors in the Halo universe. We are looking for a Producer / Program Manager to facilitate our fledgling team as we take bold new ideas from concept to finished product. You will work hand-in-hand with all disciplines to define, develop, and ship an all-new Halo entertainment experience.”
Spartan Ops wasn’t a complete failure, but the Halo 4 feature just wasn’t interesting enough to grab enough players upon each new release. Hopefully the team, with the help of this new employee, can figure out a better way to produce content of this ilk.
