This time, it’s Guerrilla Games’ turn to go up on their official forums to touch base with their fans. They run down the most common feedback for Killzone Shadow Fall and explain which changes they are implementing, which ones they are not, and why.
The most nagging issue they address is multiplayer voice chat. Up until now, the game had been using Party Voice Chat, which allows you to talk to your friends while playing different games. This should have been obvious from the onset, but multiplayer voice chat is an essential feature to FPS multiplayer, and so Guerrilla has been convinced to add the feature in. Multiplayer voice chat should be coming this month.
Guerrilla also acknowledges the request for proximity chat, but wants to implement this first, see if fans are satisfied, and take it from there. Eventually, they will also implement a system to better identify members of your team and party.
Also in the works are a skill based ranking system, as well as a clan system. Again, Guerrilla had sought to convert players to conventions they wanted to stick, like an XP system, but have acquiesced to fan demand. They have no time frame for the ranking system, but you may expect drip-feed deployment of the clan system to start early 2014.
Under investigation for now are issues regarding hip firing, overpowered drones, and giving Shadow Fall its own party system, separate from PSN. On the flip side, Guerrilla has pushed back on suggestions to display K/D ratio and playable Helghast coop. On the way soon are a sniper friendly map and the minimap displaying ammo supply boxes more prominently, without any promised timeframes.
At this point, you may be thinking, did Guerrilla do anything that is available now? Yes. Classic 24 player warzone is ready and is now live, so if you’re one of the few who have a PS4 now, log back in and check it out.
