The Xbox One party system has issues. Unlike the original party system on the Xbox 360, the party system on the Xbox One comes with a load of hassle and furthermore prevents players from being able to chat across games. It's a bit like being unable to talk to your friends if you're doing a different activity.
Considering that Microsoft often brags about its implementation of Skype, the party chat system on the Xbox One leaves much to be desired.
Needless to say, Microsoft is very aware of the issues and its spokesperson Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb has since responded to complaints about party chat, stressing that things will, in fact, "get better."
Hryb posted his comment on Reddit (via CVG), where the issue was being talked about by some furious (and many not-so-furious) players in a thread titled “Why is this a thing? I should be able to chat with friends and play a different game! Fix it MS!”
Hryb wrote: “Had a meeting today about much of this and I can say that things will get better. I can’t offer a timeline of a list of what till be addressed first, but we are aware of the issue and things will get better.”
Well done. Now for the wait.
