The Uncharted movie is going to be one of the longest films to ever release, as there always seems to be another problem for the film. A new report from the Hollywood Reporter has detailed that Sony pushed back the Uncharted movie yet again.
The delay is not significant, however, it is still a delay. The Uncharted movie is now set to release three months later from its set date. Sony has pushed the movie to March 5, 2021. At the time of writing, there is currently no director attached to the highly anticipated movie.
The latest director for the film was Travis Knight who you may be familiar with from his time directing the Bumblebee movie. Sony had the director take over the Uncharted movie where Tom Holland, the actor who portrays Spider-Man, was taking on the role of a young Nathan Drake. However, late last year, Travis Knight dropped out of the project due to scheduling conflicts.
The Hollywood Reporter has noted that Sony is eyeing Venom and Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer for the movie. However, there has been no details on whether or not Fleischer is interested in the project. The Uncharted series is one of the best in the video game industry, but for some reason, Sony cannot get the ball rolling for its movie counterpart.
It will be exciting to finally see if the movie ever comes out, but at the rate we’re going, I’m going to guess its going to be a little longer before we get there. Are you excited for the upcoming Uncharted film? Think Sony should just scrap it? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
